Yanmar micro-Cogeneration Solutions

Yanmar’s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems uses an internal combustion engine, powered by clean natural gas or renewable natural gas, to produce both heat and electric power. Because of this high-powered energy collaboration, energy costs are reduced by 20-50%.

​When thinking about heat and power for any facility, traditionally two important, but separate, systems come to mind, one for hot water and one for electricity. Yanmar’s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) series revolutionizes this by combining two independent functions into one comprehensive system. Yanmar’s CHP systems generate heat with on or off-grid electricity as a by-product of this process. When compared to using hot water boilers in conjunction with conventional power from the grid, Yanmar’s environmentally friendly system is over 50% more efficient. Whether you are replacing a current HVAC system or supplementing an established configuration to take advantage of the many benefits of CHP, Yanmar’s CHP systems provides significant cost savings, over its lifecycle.

Onsite Power Generation:
Electricity is generated close to the point of use, helping to avoid transmission and distribution losses that occur when electricity travels over power lines. Electricity can also be available even when the grid has failed due to extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, power outages or other factors. In addition, any excess energy produced may be stored or shared with any local net metering program

Waste Heat Recovery:
Thermal energy from space heating, domestic hot water heating, pool/spa heating dehumidification or other process applications, continues to go unused in centralized power plants as waste. But, with a Yanmar CHP system, the waste heat recovered from the power generation of electricity, is used to offset boiler or other heating usage.
