Yanmar Micro-Grid & District Energy Solutions
Cogeneration, Solar, Wind & Our Changing Climate
The reliability and sustainability of today’s electrical grid, the ability to supply power where and when needed, depends on the grid utility suppliers, ensuring that sufficient power generation resources are readily available to meet the overall demand loads. As with climate change, more and more mixed renewable resources, such as solar and wind are quickly being added to the grid, utility operators are now faced with having to balance these resources, with those that can provide a consistent source of power.
Yanmar’s Cogeneration Systems (CHP) are designed to run continuously and are ideally suited for any micro-grid or district energy system, generating a constant supply of power and thermal energy. Allowing grid utility operators, the ability to integrate Yanmar’s CHP solutions directly with solar and wind energy generation facilities, as its backbone, ensuring a continuous and resilient supply of energy, no matter what the weather conditions are, or time of day.

Yanmar Cogeneration & Micro Grid Improved Resilience
Climate change continues to have a considerable impact on our environment and unfortunately, these extreme weather events, continue to disrupt the electric grid. Weather related events currently cause approximately 70% to 80% of the major disruptions/power outages in the utilities distribution system. As risks of grid interruption increases, due to extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, etc., Yanmar’s Cogeneration (CHP) Solutions can reliably, maintain adequate clean power and optimum climate control, as required.
Yanmar CHP - Optimum Power & Climate Control
While solar and wind micro-grids have proven to supply sufficient power generation with battery backup, combining a Yanmar micro-CHP system further ensures continued, on-site power generation (24/7), during extreme weather events or other natural disasters, including under dark clouded skies or night fall. Working in harmony with any solar / wind array, Yanmar’s CHP systems also reliably delivers thermal energy for space heating or other hydronic heating applications.
